What is 500 KVA Dry Type Amorphous Alloy Transformer
The SCB 500KVA Dry Type Amorphous Alloy Transformer is a contemporary energy-efficient dry-type transformer. Its no-load loss is reduced by 75% compared to GB/T10228 Table 4, and load loss is reduced by 15%. The transformer features maintenance-free operation, resistance to humidity and heat, fire resistance, explosion-proof design, low partial discharge, and strong heat dissipation capability.
Anywhere conventional dry-type transformers are currently used, including airports, railway stations, urban metros, high-rise buildings, and power plants, can be replaced with amorphous alloy dry-type transformers. These transformers can be placed at the load center, meeting the needs of modern high-density urban development.
The high-voltage coil is wound with H-grade high-strength enameled wire, while the low-voltage coil is wound with copper foil and vacuum impregnated. The core is made from amorphous alloy strips, featuring a rectangular cross-section, a three-frame three-column structure, peripheral passage for zero-sequence magnetic flux, and robust short-circuit resistance capability.

Core: The core adopts imported cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with a three-step full-slant joint structure. The core column is bound with F-grade non-weft banding. The core surface is encapsulated with epoxy resin, reducing no-load losses, no-load current, and iron sheet noise. The brackets and tight turn components undergo special surface treatment, further improving the appearance quality of the product.
Temperature Control System and Air Cooling System: Utilizes a cross-flow top-blown cooling fan, characterized by low noise, high air pressure, and aesthetic appearance, enhancing the transformer’s overload capacity. The temperature control employs an intelligent temperature controller, improving the transformer’s operational performance.
Protective Enclosure and Busbars: The protective enclosure provides further safety protection for the transformer, with protection levels such as IP20 and IP23. Enclosure materials include aluminum alloy, cold-rolled steel plate, stainless steel, etc., for user selection. Standard busbars are used for low-voltage outgoing lines, available for side or top outgoing lines, and can also be designed for users’ specific outgoing line requirements.

Amorphous Alloy Manufacturing Method of Transformer
Using a super-quenching technique, liquid melts of iron, cobalt, boron, silicon, etc., are sprayed onto a rapidly rotating platter and rapidly cooled, forming a thin strip of 0.02mm-0.04mm thickness. This rapid cooling solidifies the liquid metal into an amorphous structure, imparting excellent physical properties to it.
Features and Advantages
Soft Magnetic Properties: Amorphous alloys exhibit outstanding soft magnetic properties, performing exceptionally well in electromagnetic devices.
High Electrical Resistivity: The amorphous structure of amorphous alloys gives them a higher electrical resistivity, reducing eddy current losses and improving transformer efficiency.
Stability and Reliability: They possess high chemical stability and mechanical strength, ensuring long-term stable operation of the equipment.
Energy Efficiency and Environmental Friendliness: Compared to traditional transformers, amorphous alloy transformers have lower energy consumption, reducing energy waste and meeting energy-saving and environmental protection requirements.
Strong Adaptability: They are suitable for various working environments, demonstrating good adaptability and reliability.

Product Features of 500 KVA Dry Type Amorphous Alloy Transformer
Copper Coil Design: The coils are wound with copper conductors or foils, reinforced with fiberglass, and vacuum impregnated with epoxy resin without filler. This process ensures high mechanical strength, resistance to short circuits, and strong impact resistance.
High Voltage Windings: Copper inserts are embedded at the ends and middle tap changers of the high-voltage windings, providing excellent rigidity, ease of adjustment, and a neat appearance.
Core Construction: The core is made by stacking grain-oriented cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with 45-degree full-slant multiple-step joints. A resin insulation coating covers the surface, providing resistance to moisture, rust, and noise reduction.
Assembly Tightening: Elastic components are used to clamp the core, brackets, and coils, ensuring stable compression to reduce noise.
Self-Cooling Design: The transformer is designed for self-cooling, with longitudinal ventilation ducts reserved inside the high (low) voltage winding cylinder wall. It can be equipped with a forced air cooling device (cooling fan), which, when used, can increase the output capacity by 20%.
Temperature Control: Equipped with a temperature controller, a platinum resistance thermometer (Pt100) is placed in a pre-embedded hole at the top of the low-voltage winding. It monitors the temperature rise of the transformer winding, automatically starting and stopping the cooling fan, and features fault alarm, over-temperature alarm, and over-temperature trip functions, providing reliable overload protection for the dry-type transformer, thereby enhancing operational safety.
